Toddler in the coma in Denmark after circumcision

(approximate translation) A little baby has been so badly injured during a circumcision at a private clinic in Nørrebro that he has been put in a coma. In the last few days, the report has been spread with lightning speed on facebook. Among other things, people like Suzanne Bjerrehus and renowned consultant and researcher in sexual health Morten Frisch have scattered the post.

The latter confirms that the story is true across BT
- I can confirm that the story is true. For I have spoken to the doctor who performed the surgery, and he confirms that the boy is on life support, says Morten Frisch. According to the post, allegedly written by the family of the little boy, the baby ended up in a coma after he was circumcised Tuesday at a private clinic in Copenhagen Northwest district. Subsequently, the boy had to be hospitalized at Hvidovre Hospital, where he therefore was put into a coma.

- Before the circumcision, he ( the doctor, ed.) stunningly and unfortunately an amateur; gave the baby too much anesthetic: approx. 8ml. (He shouldn't have provided more than 3ml because the baby only weighs 3 kg) Shortly after the circumcision and while the baby was still in the clinic, he began to have difficulty breathing and the color of his face changed while liquid came out of its mouth, says the post, to warn everybody against the said doctor.

Male circumcision has in recent years been a hot political topic, and the unhappy history has also reached politicians at Christiansborg. Are you related to the little boy, or do you know the family? Contact BT on silb@bt.dk Danish People's Liselott Blixt asked in Thursday following questions to Health Minister Nick Hækkerup (S).

- Can the Minister confirm or deny the story that is rife in the media about a baby who has had too much anesthetic during circumcision and is now hospitalized at Hvidovre Hospital? Liselott Blixt says Friday morning to BT that she has not yet received a reply Nick Hækkerup. BT has tried to get a comment from the doctor who performed the circumcision, but a woman who takes his phone said he has no comment on sagen. Da BT Thursday visited the clinic in Nørrebro, there was no one present. Hvidovre Hospital will neither confirm nor deny the story, but BT has from other sources have confirmed that the little boy has been hospitalized at Hvidovre Hospital. Despite several attempts, it has not been possible to make contact with the little boy's family.
